Brazilian Butt Lift & Fat Transfer

Fat harvested from where you don't want it, purified, and placed where it builds shape. Done with subcutaneous-only technique for safety.

How the procedure works

01

Harvest

Liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and back — which also creates the waist that makes the result look dramatic.

02

Process

Fat is purified to concentrate viable adipocytes and remove blood, oil and anesthetic fluid.

03

Transfer

Grafted in small aliquots into the subcutaneous plane only — never intramuscular. This is the single most important safety decision in a BBL.

04

Survive

Roughly 60–80% of grafted fat establishes blood supply and stays permanently, provided you follow the pressure-offloading protocol.

Options beyond the classic BBL

Hip dip correction

Targeted lateral grafting to smooth the trochanteric depression and create a continuous curve.

Non-surgical BBL (Permafill®)

For patients without enough donor fat, or who want projection without a surgical recovery.

Composite contouring

Fat transfer paired with Lipo 360 and skin tightening for a full torso reshape in one stage.

Safety, honestly

The BBL earned a poor safety reputation because of intramuscular fat placement, which risks fat embolism. Dr. Balgobin grafts in the subcutaneous plane exclusively, uses appropriately sized cannulas, and declines cases where donor fat or health status makes a safe result unlikely. If you are not a candidate, you will be told so at the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

How long until I can sit normally?

Plan on offloading direct pressure for roughly 2 weeks using a BBL pillow, with gradual return to normal sitting after that. Sleeping on your stomach or side is required early on.

Do I have enough fat for a BBL?

Most patients do, but very lean patients may not. At consultation Dr. Balgobin assesses donor sites and will recommend either a staged approach, a Permafill® option, or waiting.

Is the result permanent?

The fat that establishes blood supply is permanent living tissue. It will grow or shrink with significant weight change, so a stable weight protects your result.

Can men get fat transfer?

Yes — for buttock and hip contour, pectoral or shoulder definition, and correcting contour irregularities from prior procedures.
